Dear Friends, Partners and Members of the Community,
Our team at VIC-Valley InterCommunity Council wants to reach out to you. We hope this message finds your families healthy and safe. We know this is a time filled with uncertainty, and the staff and volunteers at VIC remain committed to doing the boots on the ground work needed to care for our most vulnerable population--seniors.
We want to update you on VIC's efforts to protect our seniors, those who are most at-risk for the COVID-19 virus. A total of 29,922 meals have been delivered to seniors since the crisis began. And the demand for meals is increasing.
Fortunately, VIC is part of a larger community offering solutions during this time of need. Many of you have assisted in the efforts to serve our most vulnerable, including our City of Los Angeles partners, state and federal representatives, organizations, community partners, volunteers, and our donors. Simply put, we could not have done it without you and we will need to rely on your support in the months to come.
Although VIC's senior centers in Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, Northridge, Pacoima and 15 nutrition sites are closed for activities, our home-delivered meal programs continue. Phone numbers for our Senior Centers can be found here on our website.
We are all in this moment together. Each of us plays an important role in keeping one another safe. Especially now, every small act of kindness matters--whether that means reaching out to neighbors, connecting or reconnecting with family and friends, or donating to organizations that are providing essential services to those among us who are most vulnerable and in need.
